I have entries in my SMTP log that I do not understand. Every minute I get
a log entry that seems to be the mail server attempting to connect to
itself:

05:24 00:05 SMTPD(232800CE) [216.15.92.3] connect 216.15.92.3 port 3975
05:24 00:06 SMTPD(232900CE) [216.15.92.3] connect 216.15.92.3 port 3980
05:24 00:07 SMTPD(queue run) 25998 0 29
05:24 00:07 SMTPD(232A00CE) [216.15.92.3] connect 216.15.92.3 port 3985

Is this something I should be concerned about or is it normal? They are
easily overlooked except when there is very little inbound traffic (like
when my Firewall SMTP proxy barfs) when I then notice 29 "connect" lines
followed by the "(queue run)" line.

Thank you,

Michael Hoyt
