From memory it's an MTU issue -- the machine should be using an MTU of 576 on the dialup connection, not the default 1500 some Windows versions use. Fixing it is a registry change. There are manual instructions at: Win9x: http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/WS-19990107-EM01.htm WinNT: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=183229 Win2K/XP: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=826159 You'll probably find the change easier to make with one of the network tweaking tools like http://www.broadbandreports.com/drtcp (select the dialup adapter and change the MaxMTU value). A registry backup beforehand is advised.
