I don't recall if it's the Bagle virus or one of the others, but with some
viruses, if your machine is infected with a new strain before it is updated
with the latest dat, the virus will trick your AV into telling you it's up
to date. Had a customer like this a month or so ago.

In that case, you should check to make sure that your mailserver virus
scanner is up-to-date (both its .exe file, and the virus definitions).  It
sounds like it isn't up-to-date.
