The bounce email just contains this message:

Delivery failed 20 attempts: [EMAIL PROTECTED]  

Original message follows. 

As long as the outbound rule will apply to postmaster emails, I should
be okay. I know better than trying to debug Sprint's oddities. It
doesn't seem like this happens very often. And seems unrelated to how
many messages are in my sprint inbox.

Not surprising. The envelope sender is retained.
