This may not be the answer but I know that a couple years back we had trouble with Internet Explorer's form autocomplete...it seemed to cache form data that it used to autocomplete and sometimes seemed to provide the wrong data for a particular form.
We found this out because we were developing a site for a client and people couldn't log into the system we developed. I was pulling my hair out and then added a bit of code to show the person's login info. When I looked at it, it wasn't what should have been supplied. It was something from another form I or the person in question had been to. We turned off autocomplete, retried and it was fine.
