2. In the help for the trusted addresses, it cautions against putting your own domain name in the trusted address. I have listed our mail server IP in the Trusted IP's, but want to make sure nothing from our company is identified as Spam. Does anyone know why you shouldn't put in your own domain?
That's because it is trivial for a spammers to forge a domain (about 99+% of spammers do so). But it is nearly impossible for them to forge an IP address.
Since spammers know that many people mistakenly whitelist their own domain, they often use a return address on the domain that they are sending to.
