Have installed Imail and KWM on a new server, but am having serious
problems getting IP based virtual domains working correctly with Web
Messaging. Any help gratefully received...

Server - HP Proliant
NOS - Win 2k SP4 with all the latest patches etc
Private network 10.28.0.0 with private DNS Sitting behind a firewall.
Primary IP address -10.28.0.11
Additional Ip addresses bound to the same adapter - 10.28.1.1, 10.28.1.2,
10.28.1.3 etc

In our private DNS are for instance

for domain.com.
  A host.domain.com 10.28.0.11
and relevant PTR record.

also for domain2.com
  A host.domain2.com 10.28.1.1
and relevant PTR record.

also for domain3.com
  A host.domain3.com 10.28.1.2
and relevant PTR record.

I have installed Imail 8.12 and KWM 4.03 (fresh) and have used
host.domain.com. as the install domain. The KWM templates work fine and I
can log in. I have added a couple of virtual domains based on the
additional IP addresses, using the names above e.g. host.domain2com, and
host.domain3.com. I have added some domain named gifs to distinguish
between virtual host interfaces, and am in testing process at the moment.

nslookup returns authoritative answers for all three hosts correctly
identifying the correct addresses for each host. e.g.

C:\>nslookup host.domain2.com
Server: ns0.domain.com
Address: 10.x.x.x

Name: host.domain2.com
Address: 10.28.1.1

C:\>nslookup -querytype=PTR 10.28.1.1
Server: ns0.domain.com
Address: 10.x.x.x

1.1.28.10.in-addr.arpa name = host.domain2.com

However when I use my browser (have checked proxy settings etc) I cannot
access these two other domains except by using the IP address in the URL.
E.G.->

http://10.28.1.1:8383 -> takes me to the KWM interface for
host.domain2.com, and
http://10.28.1.2:8383 -> takes me to the KWM interface for
host.domain3.com.

even though

http://host.domain2.com:8383 correctly resolves to 10.28.1.1 if I use it as
a URL, I get the KWM interface for host.domain.com.

possibly blindingly obvious to those in the know, I have searched the
knowledge base, and read the DNS FAQ, but to no avail,

thanks in advance for any advice,

Julian
