I know you said he has Outlook configured the same way on both machines, but are you sure he doesn't have an additional account set up on his laptop and when he's starting a new message, it's defaulting to the other account? If so and that other account is actually having the problem, it would explain why forwards work (from the "good account") but new messages (from the "bad account") don't.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Strange email problem

Hello.

I am running Imail 8.05 HF 3 on Windows 2000 Server SP4.

I am having a very strange problem.

There is a user with a dell pc and a Toshiba laptop.

He has Outlook 2003 configured exactly the same on both systems.

He is trying to send an email from his work account to his ISP account (in this case it is aeneas.net).

When he sends a new message from his dell pc, the messages are always delivered to the aeneas account.

When he sends a new message from his Toshiba laptop, the message never gets to the aeneas account.

On both instances, my imail logs say that the messages were successfully delivered – status=1.

The tech support at aeneas says that their logs show the message being delivered as well, but no new messages from the laptop show up in the aeneas account.

Here is some of the weirdness:

If he forwards a message from Outlook 2003 on the Toshiba laptop to the aeneas account, it is always delivered.

It seems that the problem is with any new messages that come from the laptop going to the aeneas account.

Any ideas or hints to this problem would be very helpful.

Thanks.

Jeff
