Hi all,

we did the same to create/modify users und add/remove users to/from lists.
Creating lists, seems us to complex, as Guy wrote. A command line tool would be very helpful.

Otherway, it could be possible to write a script in free-time (holidays), but who knows about the complete description
and explanation of all thes keys? Which values are allowed and what do they mean?

regards,
Roland

A question: we have a script that modifies users.lst files for various
distribution lists as we gain and lose employees. It works fine, but there's
a catch: this only works with lists that have been manually created through
Imail Administrator, so it's no help when we add new offices or divisions.
So I went ahead and created a "dummy" list to see what registry changes
transpired, and here's the new stuff that came up:

===============
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ipswitch\IMail\Domains\mailtest.somedomain.com\
Users\_aliases]
"registry_test-owner"="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
"owner-registry_test"="[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
"registry_test"="| imailsrv mailtest.somedomain.com registry_test"
"imailsrv"="| imailsrv mailtest.somedomain.com"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Ipswitch\IMail\Domains\mailtest.somedomain.com\

"ReplyToList"=dword:00000000
"EnableDigest"=dword:00000000
"EnableSubjectMods"=dword:00000000
"EnableHeader"=dword:00000000
"EnableTrailer"=dword:00000000
"DisableListCommand"=dword:00000000
"PrivateList"=dword:00000000
"EnableSubjectUnsubscribes"=dword:00000000
"UsePassword"=dword:00000000
"Limit"=dword:00000000
"Split"=dword:00000019
"Restricted"=dword:00000000
"EnableAuthPosters"=dword:00000000
"EnableHeadersTrailersForDigestPostings"=dword:00000000
"StripNonTextAttachments"=dword:00000000
"EnableDigestSeparator"=dword:00000000
"EnableDigestHeader"=dword:00000000
"EnableDigestTrailer"=dword:00000000

...so, it's a little wordy, but on the surface it doesn't look too hard to
replicate in a script. Obviously a lot of the values would be boilerplate
since we're using a standard list setup. However, I'm a bit leery of playing
with the Registry in general if I can avoid it. Before I get too
enthusiastic with my registry editing, can anyone tell me if there's some
kind of command-line-based tool to perform the same purpose? I looked at the
list of helper apps but none of them sounded quite right for this task.

Thanks!

Guy T.
