I was wondering if someone could explain why a particular message is being
routed to the root-bulk mailbox.

By default, IMail v8's anti-spam sends spam to "root-bulk".

I'm running IMail v8.05.

The catch with IMail v8.08 is that whitelists aren't really whitelists, but instead cause an E-mail to bypass just a portion of tests. It would be best to upgrade to the latest version of IMail, which uses whitelisting correctly. Or, you can whitelist the E-mail in both the "content filtering" and "connection filtering" sections.

If you are using Declude JunkMail, you don't have to worry about that -- whitelisting is whitelisting in Declude JunkMail.
