Sorry, but I try to avoid this topic if at all costs. Let me give the generic answer. You need to accept Null Senders because you want to be RFC compliant. To NOT accept Null Senders would mean you won't be notifying your users when their messages are not received.
Many here will argue you should accept Null Senders, while others who are in a very controlled or unique environment have just as many legitimate reasons not to accept Null Senders. I don't accept Null Senders because I am one of those in a very unique environment, I have been ridiculed by several people on this list who think I'm ignorant or incompetent for that decision, but they speak without knowing my environment. So in short if you want your users to be notified when mail is not being received or you want to be RFC compliant make sure you can accept Null senders. -----Original Message----- From: Kathy Lees [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, August 04, 2004 3:29 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Help with blacklist needed What? -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Langston, Cale Sent: Wednesday, August 04, 2004 11:29 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Help with blacklist needed /duck -----Original Message----- From: Kathy Lees [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, August 04, 2004 3:24 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Help with blacklist needed OK. I am going to ask a stupid question. Why do you want your server to accept a Null Sender?
