You mean that someone can wittingly forge the header content? In principle, this is possible, but this is the real crime. I'm not sure that this the best way to send spam. Anyone knows something similar?
I believe that they should add your ip only when they receive your mail in direct point-to-point connection. But if your header consist of more the one extern ip entry they should refer to original sender first. Because connection server easily could be their personal AOL server, which forward info to them. I have a negative experience to resolve similar problem with such "bison" orgs. They receive a hundreds phone calls and emails per day and usually don't respond anything. In my case helps corparative forum where I have explain my problem in details. In your case I think that Mark was right. It's better to stop or decrease forwarding temporary until they revise their control access politics and procedures.
