Yes. It is far preferable to use the canonical host name, or another valid host name that resolves to the host's IP on the public Internet. Using just the domain name will create DNS issues resulting in your server being blocked by sensitive anti-spam systems, _unless_ you have an A record for the zone origin (example.com) pointing to the mailserver IP (this is generally not the case--rather, example.com is an expected alias for www.example.com). You should never use local settings that extend incorrectly into the public DNS space. --Sandy ------------------------------------ Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist Broadleaf Systems, a division of Cypress Integrated Systems, Inc. e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] SpamAssassin plugs into Declude! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/SPAMC32/download/release/ Defuse Dictionary Attacks: Turn Exchange or IMail mailboxes into IMail Aliases! http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/exchange2aliases/download/release/ http://www.mailmage.com/products/software/freeutils/ldap2aliases/download/release/ To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
