Igf you search the archives for some registry hacks I think you can do this.
I know Sandy has said it can be done for POP..I am assuming it may be true
for IMAP as well.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Web Messaging - User/Domain Configuration Question

Hello.

I have a recent development that has come up. One of my domains wants
certain users to ONLY be able to access their email (send and receive) via a
web browser, ONLY the web browser. Is their a setting, rule, what have you,
that would allow a user(s) to only view, send, receive email via a web
browser and not through an email client program like: Outlook, Outlook
Express, Eudoria, ect...??? I did a quick search through the posts in the
forum, but maybe I didn't use the right key words to search on. I am
currently using Imail Ver 8.04 but if one of the newer versions supports
this, I would be willing to upgrade.

 Thanks.
