I agree ... after working with SUN, IBM AIX, AS/400, MS Windows and Novell ... it's all in the app and server setup ... a single bad app can make any OS look like crap. Before anyone jumps on me ... I'm currently running IBM RS/6000's with AIX, Windows 2000 servers, Windows NT 4.0 servers and one FreeBSD server. They all have their place, I believe in the best tool for the job ... not XXXX OS is the best for everything.

Having managed shops running both kinds of systems for 10+ years I've come to the conclusion that if a system is set up well with the right software for the job it runs well, regardless of OS. To say one is always better than the other just shows ignorance of the other. TCO generally seems to be the same as well. Darin.
