Thanks for all of the replies. So far the system is
back up and running without any stoppage. I found the timing of your (BKR)
system stopping and mine to be quite coincidental. My system would stop once a
day, as opposed to several per hour, and it started doing so around September
11. However a bad sector developed and we had to scrap the entire drive.
Since I rebuilt the IMail server it
has only stopped twice. I had read other messages regarding the server
stopping and the list of culprits included the NIC card and a MS SMTP
server conflict. Currently, I am diagnosing the latter. It turned out that the
MS service was running when viewed from the services window despite the fact
that it was showing as stopped in the admin console. Since this service has been
disabled the MS event log is clean. Fingers crossed and we are free and
clear.
