This was really interesting to read. I can easily get a better picture of an alternate plan now, and better pricing which includes support options. If you look at their pricing you will find a SA offering like we used to have here. I didn't read anywhere that Worgroupshare was dependent on any particular email servers.
It looks to me like a person could use any suitably priced email server with a support and upgrade plan that would suit our needs as suggested by David Karp, and still be able to add as many users in increments which the clients could pay for. This way we could market this service ourselves without paying for the extra overpriced AV and IM products being shoved down our throats. Also see their email server product at http://www.workgroupmail.com/ which appears to be pretty nice at first glance. There is an SA that is less expensive that what we have been paying for Imail, but it doesn't appear to include major product upgrades. However you can also purchase single support issues for $30 each so there is no question about paying for something you may not even use :) I guess if Ipswitch can maintain 10% of their client base and get them to pay these prices they will be better off than they were before their new marketing scheme. Though I'm not in a hurry, I sure have an open mind about moving on after our SA expires and not playing this game with them. It's not a matter of principle and ethics as I see it! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of James P. The 3 software programs are not tied together one bit by code and do not rely on each other for anything. The other installers install Imail 8.13 and IM 2.01 individually If you go to www.workgroupshare.com you can buy the collaboration software component 250 user license for $2995. Its almost as if Ipswitch is selling Imail, and IM as a cheap add on to this workgroupshare software. All of this just makes you want to say What in tarnation is going on here?
