Yesterday we became the DNS authority for a domain,
ifs-mt.com.
They
have an Exchange server. Their Exchange server's IP address was and
remains 69.51.79.204.
I
created an A record for mail.ifs-mt.com for 69.51.79.204 with an MX record
for mail.ifs-mt.com.
At my
location we have an Exchange server (mail.emerycomputer.com) and we have an
Imail server at a remote location. When I send from our Exchange server
the mail is delivered. When I send through our Imail server it is
not. When I test from a Yahoo! account it does not get there. They
are not getting emails. When I do an nslookup from our Imail server it
resolves correctly but when I look in my Imail log it doesn't look like Imail is
using the right address. Since the address never changed that perplexes
me.
When I
nslookup or ping I resolve to 69.51.79.204. When I test from dnsstuff.com
it looks good.
If
some of you would test from your end and report results I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
