I tell you what I would like to see from declude, a hook into postfix to replace amavisd-new (which hooks into SA and your AV) via the postfix content_filter=, running on localhost.

amavisd-new is kind of ugly

May I ask what version of Declude works with it? At one of my installations I am considering holding with 8.x and purchasing Declude for AV but that would obviously be a stop gap measure. If Declude supported another platform I would consider going that route, though I didn't like some of the comments I saw about smartermail compared to mailenable.

No version as of yet, but they have been talking to Declude. In any event the Declude standalone that has been mentioned could work as a gateway for AV/Spam.. when that exists. I have purchased SmarterMail but not migrated to it because I'm going to see how soon something with Declude might happen. I wanted to have the SmarterMail though so I could have it should some remote exploit come out for IMail. (my service agreement is not renewed). Also I wanted SmarterMail so I could report any bugs I find to them and make feature requests. I already have a few notes in to them. I see potential in SmarterMail. I think it's there for me as a prodcut as soon as I have Declude going with it. Perhaps not everyone will want SmarterMail. Would be nice to have some IMail people that know stuff also on SmarterMail. IMail has always had a community that knows stuff. That's been IMail's strength for me.
