> Do these log entries make sense for a single connection? Certainly not. That first entry may indicate some very strange (cross-OS, and so less readily flagged) duplicate IP or suchlike. There's no reason for a remote host to be logged as coming from the external interface. I'd look _very_ closely at the TCP/IP configs on both boxes.
