Hi,
Some of our users encountering an issue when want to download the messages to Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook. Below is the error message :
Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'strmal.thestar.com.my', Server: 'strmal.thestar.com.my', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '+OK 9002 octets', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F
It seems that those users that encounter this error is when they try to download quite a big email messages from the main folder.
We are using IMail v8.12.
Any help...
Thank you.

Zul
Check for a corrupted inbox or an out of disk space condition on the mail store folder. We had exactly this problem with a Mac here and it was out of disk space. Corrupt inboxes will also cause this in Outlook Express, as will an inbox greater than 2Gb in Outlook or Outlook Express.
It's not a server issue if you can
telnet mailhost 110
user username
pass password
list
(find the number of the large message)
retr message#
and it finishes copying the text of the message to your console (should end with <\n>.<\n>) Warning on large files it will take a while to copy the text of the message to the console.
