> Does anyone know if this is a standard feature in mail servers?

Yes, it is standard to have a single message header/body be delivered
only once to every unique final address after all aliases, including
nested aliases, have been resolved.

Catchall aliases, such as IMail's 'nobody,' could theoretically act as
a special case, but in IMail, they are, for the most part, treated as
standard aliases as above.

To do what you're referring to, you'd first find a popper that is able
to use a custom header (rather than forcing the use of a non-standard
_part_ of a header such as 'for'), then write a script to insert this
custom header based on the original envelope information.
