While there are already many entities that are
already using SPF I am not in any position to verify or convinced that it's
the ultimate answer right now today.

It definitely isn't the ultimate answer to spam, but is definitely a step in the right direction. As it becomes more widespread, it makes for much more work (and more cost) for spammers. That's a good thing, as it helps increase the "cost of entry" to spam, getting rid of more and more of the entry-level spammers.
