Hi all.

I have a problem that might be more related to MS Outlook than IMail, but since
it also involves IMail I hope that some of you can help me.

The problem is that people using MS Outlook with POP3 accounts are receiving
auto-response or vacation messages from users on our IMail server without the
special characters that was put into the auto-response originally. (We are
based in Norway so we have some special characters in our alphabet that are
used quite often).

Now, the funny thing is that if someone receives the same auto-response with MS
Outlook through an Exchange server the special characters are displayed
correctly. I have tested this myself and sent messages to a user on our IMail
server that has auto-response enabled. When I send and receive from Outlook
2003 through our Exchange server the auto-response displays the special
characters correctly. But when I send and receive from Outlook 2003 through a
POP3 server the special characters are not displayed correctly in the
auto-response.

I guess that Outlook is decoding the characters in a different way if it
retreives the messages from the Exchange server versus when it retrieves them
from a POP3 server, but I don't know how to fix the problem. Is there something
I can do on the Outlook client or can I change something on the IMail server to
fix this?

We are running IMail 8.05 HF3.

Any suggestions are appreciated.
