Another  issue  to  be  aware  of  is  routers/firewalls  with 'helpful'
protocol fixups when NATing.

They  often  look  inside  the  packet  data to replace an 'external' IP
address with the corresponding 'internal' one.

On  a  Cisco router you can prevent this with a no-payload clause at the
end of your nat statement.
