I use WinRAR's command line application on a nightly schedule to take eveyrthing which goes to a catch-all account and archive it. Each archive is named for the specific day (ie 20041229). If I need to retrieve anything, I either use MailBag Assistant (I think thats what its called) or MailNavigator to parse the MBX file for what I want. Works rather well.

Hi Everyone,

We need to begin maintaining and archiving copies of all emails sent through
our Imail server.

My first thought was to just copy everything to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
and set a pc up to pick it up every 10 minutes or so and store it on one of
my nas devices.

However, I can see how this would quickly bog down a Microsoft Outlook
client and make it very difficult to sort through the messages when I needed
to find something.

I know there are products out there (I believe Veritas has one as well as
Legato) to do something like I'm looking for.

Does anybody have any experience with these solutions? Or is there something
out there I'm not thinking of?

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
