        Thanks for the aid.  Ended using egrep, head, find, cut, and sort which

        Depending on the format you want the output in, you can do something as
        simple as:
        
        egrep "^(To:|From:)" imail\spool\spam\D*.SMD
        
        You can get the sending ip address too, but you need to know where that
        would be placed in the headers based on whether you have a gateway 
sitting
        in front of your IMail server or not.

        I wanted to see if anyone has a parse tool written that will run against
        the spool directory and pull out what to domains (and from domains/ips)
        inside the d*.smd files.  That way if we have a remote gateway server
        that is down, with over 1000 emails in the queue, it is tough to just
        use SpoolViewer or View Queue to get an idea of what is going on.
