"Well, f-prot is touted as a server based scanner"

By who? Certainly not by FSI:

System requirements:

F-Prot Antivirus for Windows is designed to operate on computers running
Windows 98, 98SE, ME, NT, 2000, 2003 and Windows XP.* In addition, the
software will run on machines emulating the above operating systems.

Just because 2003 is in there, doesn't mean this is a "server based
scanner", it means it will run on a server operating system. But it is not
designed to scan emails using its realtime protector. If the server is NOT
an email server, use it all you want, but if you want to scan email with it
and you are not using Declude or MXGuard, then you are just asking for
trouble.

Also, F-Prot DOES offer a version for email servers (Exchange), and it sure
isn't $2 per copy. It's $200 for a 10 user license. Long-story-short:
F-Prot Antivirus for Windows is for Windows, not Email.

Well, f-prot is touted as a server based scanner not a desktop. It is on a
rare occassion that it locks a mailbox.

But I do get the message about it not being mail server compatible.

Thanks,
