We have a customer that ... doesn't want to purchase a CRM app because he was told that mail servers can block emails sent from app...
He said he was also told there is some list out there that lists applications known to be used by spammers so people can block mail from these apps....
I just want to investigate this a little more because this isn't the first time I've heard this from a current or potential customer.
Both statements are extremely flimsy -- nobody intentionally blocks legitimate E-mail (well, OK, there are a few people that do, but any decent anti-spam company isn't going to let people block 'em by default).
Although some anti-spam programs *do* look at what program sent the E-mail, and do detect spamware (Declude JunkMail, for example, does this), such programs are designed to detect programs that only send spam.
