OK, so I had a caching issue when I tested the host alias option I stated below as I have not been able to reproduce it with other domains, then after the cache was cleared, I was then unable to do it with my "testing" domain. The directions that Merlyn stated are complete and the only other thing you can do is to change the user's reply address. Get rid of "classic" in "classic.maildomain.com." Sorry for the "jumping to conclusions" moment I had earlier.
Once again, thanks... -RJ -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Randy Juber Sent: Thursday, January 20, 2005 6:20 PM To: [email protected] Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Killer and Classic Hey, I just wanted to let everyone know the directions below work just fine, and if you want to give the users the option, enable the alternate login and under the "classic.mailserver.com" domain, add "mailserver.com-classic" as a host alias. If I were faced with your problem, I would try the following approach* (please fill in your own information for "mailserver.com","sam", and "d:\imail"): 1. Set up an additional Virtual domain: classic.mailserver.com 2. Move the user to the new domain ie: create the user "sam" on the classic.mailserver.com move d:\imail\mailserver.com\users\sam to d:\imail\classic.mailserver.com\users\sam delete the user "sam" on mailserver.com 3. Add an alias "sam" on mailserver.com to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" 4. Instruct user to change POP/IMAP settings (they should only need to change the user name to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" and use "http://classic.mailserver.com:8383" to login to webmail) 5. Copy classic web files to: d:\imail\classic.mailserver.com\web Install KillerWebMail in d:\imail *OR* 5. Install KillerWebmail, specifying the directory d:\imail\mailserver.com\web * I have not actually gone through these exact steps myself and can't help you with the specifics.
