I think I am having a problem with some 2000 ISA servers and
Imail 8.13. About two months ago I upgraded my server to a new server and
immediately after, one of my sites (connected by T1) started getting timeouts
in Outlook Express 6 when they did a send/receive (could not connect to server).
About two weeks ago another site using MS Outlook 2000 – 2003 started
having the same problem (connected by T1). The only thing I know they
have in common is a 2000 ISA server between me and their network. Both sites are only about 50% utilization on their T1, but I
did have them increase their timeouts on the clients to about 4 minutes.
Both sites also said that they might do a send/receive 4 or 5 times and it work
fine and then the next 5 send/receive they get the error. The first site
having the problem did not change anything before having the problem.
They said it started the day I brought the new server online. I also have 20 other sites connected by T1 with very
high utilization and they do not have the problem. Only 6 out of the
other 20 have 2000 ISA servers. From home these users have no problem
even on dial up that’s why I think it may have something to do with the
ISA servers. My next step was to go out to the sites and bypass their ISA
and see if the problem still happens, but I didn’t know if any of you
might know what would be causing this. Also both sites use other local outside mail servers beyond
my network using OE 6 or MS Outlook 2000 - 2003 and it does not have any
timeout issues at all. MS 2003 Server Imail 8.13 Declude Junkmail Pro/Antivirus Pro 1.82 Fprot 3.15B Kyle |
