Yes, you are correct. Here's a link to part of that thread. In one of
the quoted messages, there is a good bit of info regarding testing and
identifying the issue.

I would expect that this would have been fixed by now, and also, if it
wasn't, there would be many more complaints considering the standard
configs and Broadcom and Intel gigabit NIC's being the standard in most
all new servers.

That's good to know. Our new server
board has a built in Intel NIC. If the 3com were to tank, the Intel
will make a nice immediate backup.

Re: [IMail Forum] Web Mail
Same here, though we had IMail 7 running on them also. First with ones
built into an Intel brand server board, and now with Intel NIC's built
into SuperMicro server boards.
I saw the old discussion that seemed to discover the issue. It was
from back in 2002. It definitely seemed like there was an issue with
certain brands, especially at higher speeds (the description and
diagnosis was seemingly solid and Ipswitch admitted to issues in an
E-mail that was shared). I would hope that given almost 3 years they
have managed to correct whatever issues they were having since this
equipment is now the norm.

Don,
We solved the same problem by
investing about $150 in a 3com Server rated NIC. It seems IMail doesn't
like RealTek or Intel.

[IMail Forum] Web Mail
Hello,
I am running
Imail 7.07 with Windows 2000. I have a problem with web mail is down
and I get a TCP -1 and then comes back up. Nothing was change on the
server.
The only I see in the log
file around the time it acting is this.
20050125 152304 Web Error
[E] TCP accept error. 10004 (consecutive_accept_error_count=1 on
IWebMsg Normal listen socket 488).
20050125 152304 Info -
Normal TCP listener exiting .
Did anyone have any ideas
what could be wrong?
Thank you,
Don
