Ever since establishing inbound connections on port 587, the following is
occurring:

1. User configures mail client to connect to our server on port 587, using
SMTP-AUTH.

2. User is able to send messages through our server.

3. mxGuard is capturing the message and analyzing it... including blacklist
lookups, ClamAV check, and Message Sniffer.

4. Message Sniffer is marking it as "General Black Rules", and because of
our mxGuard rule set, every message sent via port 587 is being stamped as
[spam?] in the subject line. (Our lowest ranking... the message is NOT
deleted by our system)

5. If we send via port 25, all is well. Only port 587 sends are affected.

I was wondering if there's anyone here that knows of a way to get mxGuard to
ignore messages going OUT from our server... since we're using
SMTP-AUTH/Relay for Addresses, and we know all our clients, there's no
reason to scan their mail before it leaves our server, except possibly the
ClamAV testing.

I've tried adding our server's IP addresses to the mxGuard WhiteList.IP, but
it does not seem to matter. We're currently using mxGuard v1.4.0 - we have
not upgraded to the latest version yet.

I tried emailing David Gregg earlier today, and also left a voice mail
message, but I thought I would try this forum too.

Anyone have any ideas on this one?

Thanks,

marc
