I have seen this issue once when a client decided to change the auto-synchronizing password of the IUSR account on the IIS webserver.

Changing it back to have Windows manage the password does fix the problem.

I don't remember the exact KB article as it was about 2 years ago (I got it possibly from www.eventid.net), but I do remember I had to use the metaedit utility.

Made me sweat while doing it, but it fixed the problem.

Hope this helps.

Good luck.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Way OT but you guys are really smart. IIS Issue

I have an issue with IIS, in the log I get the error

The registry key for IIS subauthenticator is not configured correctly on local machine, the anonymous password sync feature is disabled.

I have been looking around the net the MS site and other places looking for the answer I have not been able to find it anywhere,

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Kevin
