So, the help desk log looks something like this:

Reported problem: User complains e-mails are being forwarded.

Response: Review all locations for old files. Talk to user. User had mail
client still connecting and retrieving.

Cause: User's computer affected by PEBKAC virus.

Resolution: Replace user.
