Assuming that <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> was a non-local address and you did include all relevant log lines (despite info being removed from them), I would venture this is the result of a failed DNS lookup for the remote 'domain.com' address. The postmaster bounce sent to <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> would confirm this. Can you get the bounce?
Have a good one, Christian -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Matt Herzog Sent: Wednesday, March 09, 2005 4:34 PM To: [email protected] Subject: [IMail Forum] Please Help... I'm sure there is a simple answer to this, but I can't seem to figure it out. We are having a problem receiving messages from one user in our domain. I've checked the system log (below) and it looks like she's communicating with the server and passing credentials just fine. It says that a message from Postmaster is being created, but she gets no notice on her end and I see nothing in the log that would give me an idea as to where the messages are going or why they are not being delivered to their intended destination. This only happens if she originates a message from a mail client (Outlook 2003). She can send just fine thru webmail and messages that she replies to get delivered. Any ideas? 03:09 12:37 SMTPD(427a16460140f179) [10.xxx.xxx.xxx] connect 67.xxx.xxx.xxx port 22972 03:09 12:37 SMTPD(427a16460140f179) [67.xxx.xxx.xxx] EHLO PROCESSOR 03:09 12:37 SMTPD(427a16460140f179) Authenticated [EMAIL PROTECTED], session treated as local. 03:09 12:37 SMTPD(427a16460140f179) [67.xxx.xxx.xxx] MAIL FROM: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 03:09 12:37 SMTPD(427a16460140f179) [67.xxx.xxx.xxx] RCPT TO: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> 03:09 12:37 SMTPD(427a16460140f179) [67.xxx.xxx.xxx] E:\IMail\spool\D427a16460140f179.SMD 1929 03:09 12:37 SMTP-(427a16460140f179) processing E:\IMail\spool\Q427a16460140f179.SMD 03:09 12:37 SMTP-(427a16460140f179) Creating message from Postmaster 03:09 12:37 SMTP-(427a16460140f179) finished E:\IMail\spool\Q427a16460140f179.SMD status=2 Thanks, -Matt To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
