I am using a variety of black lists and the Imail built in spam filter to tag headers. I do not delete mail at that point and each user must option to enable account specific filtering through the push of a button and reading an agreement that we are not responsible for lost mail. We have thousands of users and deleting the SPAM, even if it’s a majority of it, will not solve the issue. I need to stop delayed message bouncing. Delayed message bouncing on its own accounts for a fair amount of mail traffic.

Not sure about the possibilities you asked about, but what are you using for spam filtering? If you catch the messages as spam before delivery, it seems like you could avoid the issue...so improving your catch rate might help.

I have an issue where I continue to be listed on the SpamCop blacklist. This is due to delayed bounced messages from my server, where mail cannot be delivered to a users mailbox due to an exceeded message count or mailbox size. If this happens, my Imail server attempts to bounce the message to the sending email address, which is forged in most cases. Some of the email that is bounced has a forged address that happens to be a SpamCop trap, so I continually get listed.
Is there a way to force Imail to verify mailbox size limits before accepting mail from a connecting server? This would ensure the sending mail server is responsible for any bounced mail like it is with “invalid recipient” or “not a gateway” responses.
If not, is there a way to disable delayed bounced message such as this?
