So, this means, that IMGate can do email address validation on another email server?
Or, let me rephrase my question: What method IMgate uses to verify the existence of the receipient's email address? (I am assuming that you have Imail server running on another computer.)

Probably not related to any general reduction in spam, but one very distressed Imail system admin asked me to install IMGate last September. Yesterday, the same MX had these numbers:
46967 ACL mta_clients_dict
137930 SMTP Exceeded Hard Error Limit after RCPT
371347 ACL to_relay_recipients unknown recipient
========================
688387 TOTAL
Which is about a 75% reduction in rejects.
