I'm not trying to sell you on the idea, but you may not realize how easy it is to setup a Linux firewall. All firewall's run on _some type_ of OS and they don't require you to know anything about it.
I concur. For a *free* example of a painless Linux based firewall that anybody, (including the most Linux-phobic person I know (me) can install, configure and maintain, check out SmoothWall Express (http://www.smoothwall.org). We've used it here for 2 years and are very pleased.
