I think, Lne, that the problem many people have with that statement is that it is incomplete. It should really read:

"Blocking subscriber networks by PTR domain works very well, as long as you don't mind dealing with an occasional false positive, and maintain a whitelist"

That's your policy, and works fine for you.

I can usually get away with that style of blocking as well, becuase I am not an ISP. Our mail server is only for our company, and as such can run under different rules.
