Guess  I'll  have  to  wait  till the next time it happens. Whenever the spool
  directory   gets   backed up with over 60,000 messages, I usually have to stop
  services,  rename  the  spool  directory  and start from fresh. Then gradually
  working  the old messages back through. Which they all do successfully go (one
  place  or  another).  I really haven't taken the time to move the logs out, so
  the  old ones usually end up getting trashed. The spool directory isn't really
  a  good  place  for the logs. Every other e-mail system that I've worked with,
  the  only  thing that is found in the spool or queue directories are messages.

  I will keep what you've stated below in mind the next time this happens.

  Also,  I  have  adjusted  down the number of delivery threads from 175 to 150.
  Don't know if this may have anything to do with the issue or not.
