I agree with Darrel, that it is dangerous to have servers and workstations in the DMZ.

I have all workstations and servers behind firewall (and in a domain) and have ports open on the firewall for WWW server, FTP server and Email server traffic.

Domain or Workgroup - should be a dilemma for your INTERNAL security consideration mostly, in order to setup different access privileges on the server AND if you have less than 11 workstations.

Hi,

My question is a bit off topic.

We're planing to rebuild our server farm right now. Actually our servers are now in a
workgroup in a DMZ.

I "heard", that internet servers should not be in a domain, but i can't see any reason why
not.

We're planing to install 5 new dedicated servers for IMail/SmarterMail, IIS, BlueDragon,
etc.

My big question is: Domain or Workgroup?
