First let me state that I agree with most of your "restrictive" policies on IMGate. That was the management's word and their decision. They didn't like the way it failed a message for a single RBL hit, and the other things that generally make it hard to pass spam through IMGate. We had several "good" emails get blocked altogether by IMGate, rather than weighted by Declude, which is our preference.

A few IMGate MXs do have to deal with unusually large numbers of legit but screwed up MTAs and DNSs (there is still an amazing amount of SMTP and DNS incompetence), so it's simpler to relax/remove a couple filters to let those screwed up legits through, but the vast majority of IMGate policies work for nearly everybody.
