? We are have been using Symantec Enterprise v 8 and now version 9 for our 500+ desktop clients for quite some time. I too swear by F-prot and Declude combo on a mail server. (knock on wood) since the implementation of F-Prot and Declude on our mail server, we have not had a virus spread by email. Besides our email server, all other servers are running Symantec Enterprise. Our desktops are running Symantec Enterprise v 9.0 and are managed thru a central server, which are scheduled to receive updates everday. We have had unexplainable reasons that a client will just stop receiving updates. This problem is fixed by re-installing, but it takes some baby sitting to make sure you look through the client list in Symantec System Console to make sure every client is up-to-date. Just happened to be, a VIPs secretary was one of those people once and got a virus,...not a good situation. I have also noticed that Symantec and McAffee seem to be a bit slow in releasing virus definition files compared to the other smaller anti-virus companies.

It's no discussion about the price, it's almost for free. Does anybody use f-prot on clients and fileservers? I coudn't find any information about how many often the signatures will updated and how f-prot deals with cpu load. I also visited the site from bitdefender. The dollar-prices are quite good. But german and swiss resellers doubled the price almost.
