Hey Allen,
We have had about an 8 month 'discussion' with the support group for Shaw.
Most of them keep asking for info from me, but a couple of sent these to me.....

I discussed this with our team. It appears that this may be part of a bigger issue. Our sysadmins are currently investigating.

And

There are reported issues of email being delayed or timing out upon sending email to Shaw's mail servers.  This is due to high volume of spam received by Shaw's mail servers prior to enabling our white listing service.  At the present time, our engineers are currently investigating the issue and are diligently working towards a resolution.

Both of those came in mid-March.

Subject: [IMail Forum] Cable provider in Canada (shaw.ca)

Hi,

I having a large number of MX errors from a Cable provider in Canada I am receiving 1000 MX errors every few days from one of their mail servers.  Sure enough when I telnet into them I get a connection time out once in a while.  I have been hearing reports of email taking up to two or three hours to deliver.   My questions:

  1. Is anyone else experience this problem with this ISP or is it just me?
  2. Is there anything I can do to help the situation I am running Imail 8.15?  (Registry tweeks etc)

Ttyl,

Allen Armstrong
