That's the way I would recommend doing it.

Have a good one,

Subject: RE: [IMail Forum] Redirecting outbound faxes from IMail to fax-MTA.
Solved, sort of.

I played around with this a bit more and came up with a workaround that I
will use unless someone can suggest a more graceful solution.

1. Added an entry into the HOSTS file on the IMail server pointing
fax.mydomain.com to the IP address of the Cisco fax MTA
2. Added an MTA Receive Alias on the fax MTA to accept incoming mail for
fax.mydomain.com

Now users can enter the To: address in their MUA as
<fax=(fax#)@fax.mydomain.com> and IMail will deliver the message to the IP
address it sees in the HOSTS file for fax.mydomain.com.

I'm certainly open to suggestions if someone knows a better way, but this
works!

Subject: [IMail Forum] Redirecting outbound faxes from IMail to fax-MTA.
Possible?

Hello all,

I have a Cisco ESMTP server with fax-email capabilities.
Currently, all of my users' clients are configured to use IMail for outbound
SMTP.
Is it possible, using Outbound message rules or some other means, to have
IMail check the outbound message headers for "rcpt to:fax=" and redirect
those messages to my Cisco fax MTA?

I've played around a little with the outbound rules, but it seems I can only
redirect to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" as opposed to simply handing
the fax MTA the whole message and leaving "rcpt to:fax=" intact.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
