Still not sure why only the domains that have netsol DNS's aren't getting through to AOL - they are coming off of the same IMAIL server - that log entry was all I could find.
Also I guess I should've been more specific - that reject was after 20 delivery attempts.

This typically means a DNS query timed out (no response), no definitive DNS response, so no definitive (5xx) SMTP reject is issued. An SMTP 4xx is issued, telling the sending MTA to retry the msg later (when the DNS response might become definitive).
The other (definitive) DNS response are:
1) positive (record exists)
2) negative (record not exists)

There should be no msg from postmaster generated in response to a 4xx reject (what a disaster that would be).
The correct behavior is that the rejected MTA (quietly) re-queues the msg aka defers delivery.
