William,

as I mentioned in my posting I only have ONE rule there which is the subject of this issue and it doesn't work all the time. I added the rule through the GUI interface but I also checked it by opening the rules.ima file with notepad.

The truth of the matter is that I am using 8.2 BETA version, but before I would post a note in that forum I just wanted to make sure that this problem is not caused by some simple oversight on my end according to the rules of version 8.1x .

So, summarizing the facts, your answer to my original question is, that these action rules do have bypassing power over ALL spam filters of Imail server 8.1x, correct?

Geza,

It might not have worked because of the order you have the filters set in
your rules.ima folder. Each rule acts in the order it is listed on the page.
So, you will need to place that rule you had at the very top of the list in
order for it to ignore the rules below it. I'm not sure if this is possible
to do via the GUI, so you may have to hand-edit each user's rules.ima file
with a text editor to make sure that the rules are in the proper order. I
have such a rule for a couple of accounts, and it works just fine.
