L I don’t have Mail relay for addresses set up (I have “no relay” enabled under SMTP security). So my problem still remains…

I dont know when some of these options came along, I'm on the latest version... there is a "Relay For Addresses" section... one of the options in there is "Skip antispam filters"  if the sending IP address is in there and you have that checked -- that may be your problem.

Jim,

I use a older version. I don’t have any option in the phrase filtering section saying “Normalize words” I also don’t have the option to add a prefix(version 8.04).

The action is set to “INSET X-HEADER” on finding a match

Look in your antispam settings:

    Content Filtering Tab

        Phrase filtering section

is "Normalize Words" checked - That's what Travis is asking you

also look at your other settings is SCAN set to "Subject" or "Body" or both?

also look at "action to be taken"... what's that set as?

Still the X-SPAM header was not found in the mail. Am I sending the mail wrongly? I included the phrase in the subject line and not in the body (but that shouldn’t matter rt?)

Also I do not have any Whitelist setup to allow all mails without being tested for spam.

I have a trial version of Declude 6 running. Can that interfere with the phrase list?

( Travis I still don’t understand what normalizing the list means.I just downloaded the phrase list from the Ipswitch website added it to the phrase list and checked the Enable box)

Are you normalizing the list?  Do you have the account/IP in the white list?  What do the logs say?

HI,

I had mailed this group about the phrase filtering problems I have. I still havnt received any convincing reply as to why this happens. Can someone help:

Details:

The phrase filtering on my IMAIL server does not work. I have the Phase Filtering enabled but the statistical filtering is NOT enabled. I have asked to add a X-Header flag on detecting a phrase in my list but when i send a mail from a different account with a phrase I need to block ...it is not inserting any header.

Stopped and restarted POP3 SMTP and queue manger. Nthing happened

Have a single domain created. Assigned a static IP addr to it. I use Imail server version 8.01

Hi,

This is a normal installation just a normal IP assigned to the mail server. And just one domain created.

Ok – is this an IP’d domain? Virtual?  Are you using normalization?
