Sandy: Scripts aren't considered 3rd party and you should know that...I'll spare from saying more but just the comment was excessive...Thanks anyhow for the suggestion, I will look into it. As for the LDAP, it's a no-go since the secondary MX is not "in house" hosted....for now, but will be a thing to look at when that changes. Len: I was thinking of a similar setup (secondary MX turned off unless needed) and that would be something I could easily do, since all our production servers (mail servers included) are mirrored and OFF FOR STANDBY 99% of the time, I don't even need an automatic failover to the secondary, it can be done manually and that would do. David: I will put your suggestion in place only if I can't convince Mr.Prez that a secondary MX answering at all time is not necessary.
